H. Alonzo Jennings, originally from Passaic NJ, is an artist, photographer, poet, and jazz aficionado. He has been photographing jazz musicians since 1976. Additionally, he has produced jazz concerts, art exhibits, and poetry readings for the Underground Railroad Museum of Burlington County, New Jersey. Now retired, Jennings devotes his time to photography and poetry, and collecting vintage jazz recordings. Additionally, he co-hosts a one-hour radio program with Daryle Lloyd on WPPM-FM 106.5 called Jazz From An Eclectic Mind.
His collection includes approximately 30 linear feet of materials, dating from circa 1970–present. It consists primarily of candid photographs of jazz musicians, many from the Philadelphia area as well as a large collection of jazz recordings, many no longer in print.
